Pivot Point - Kasie West

"It was hard when I knew I was about to be flooded with memories of a life I hadn't lived yet. Really, two lives I hadn't lived yet."

Summary: When Addie is faced with a choice, she can look into the future and see two possible outcomes. She is a Searcher and lives at the Compound with other people who also have special abilities. When her parents decide to get a divorce, Addie is asked to choose which parent to live with. To make the decision, Addie will search six weeks into the future. Both paths show that she will experience loss of some sort, so it comes down to which future she can live with the most.

I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH THAT I COULD CRY. In fact, I did cry last night as I finished it. I loved everything about this book. I love how unique the storyline is. I love Addie and Laila's friendship. I love Addie's attitude. I love Duke (I also hate him though). I LOVE TREVOR. Oh my gosh, Trevor is so perfect! At first I was Team Duke but then I found out some stuff about him and I was like "I'm going to Team Trevor now." When Addie brought Trevor a heating pad for his hurt shoulder, I DIED. That whole bedroom scene was the BEST. I'm glad I ended up liking Trevor. When I first met him, he was wearing a jean jacket and cowboy boots and I was like "Uh. NO." The ending to this book was so so so sad! I don't want to spoil anything but seriously GO READ THIS BOOK. It's officially my second favorite book I've read this year. And I just saw that there's going to be a sequel which I'm honestly a little concerned about because my expectations are set really high but I can't wait to read it!

Rating: 10/10

  1. Man this book. I have such a love/hate relationship with it. I really loved Addie and Trevor and Laila and Rowan, I despised Duke almost from the start. He utterly repulses me and so that made it hard to get through her lovey scenes with him. And I wasn't a huge fan of the writing. I'm glad you enjoyed it though. It is a great story and I'm sure the sequel will be even better.

    1. I swear Duke has me under his spell. I keep forgetting that I cannot like him because of how awful he was but he had such cute charming moments with Addie! It's like he messed with my emotions, too and I know I probably wouldn't like him either. I loved the writing! The way Addie and Laila's relationship was written is what made me love this book in the first place. Hopefully you will enjoy the sequel if you keep reading!

  2. Hahaha! I totally didn't like Trevor's outfit either, but he has been my choice all through out. I did not like Duke at all, and I doubted him all throughout the book. I just finished this too and I loved it. :)
