Insurgent - Veronica Roth

Summary from Goodreads:

One choice can transform you—or it can destroy you. But every choice has consequences, and as unrest surges in the factions all around her, Tris Prior must continue trying to save those she loves—and herself—while grappling with haunting questions of grief and forgiveness, identity and loyalty, politics and love.

Tris's initiation day should have been marked by celebration and victory with her chosen faction; instead, the day ended with unspeakable horrors. War now looms as conflict between the factions and their ideologies grows. And in times of war, sides must be chosen, secrets will emerge, and choices will become even more irrevocable—and even more powerful. Transformed by her own decisions but also by haunting grief and guilt, radical new discoveries, and shifting relationships, Tris must fully embrace her Divergence, even if she does not know what she may lose by doing so.
I loved Insurgent! I know my issues with this series is that it's soooo repetitive and goes on for pages and pages and pages but I'm obsessed! I'm so fascinated by this world Tris and the rest of the characters live in and I love the idea of these factions. I've seen some reviews where people hated how much of Insurgent was spent going from faction to faction but I thought it was really fun! I loved getting to see what each faction is like and read the descriptions of where they live and the colors they wear. Now that I know what the casting is like for the movie, I am picturing what each book is going to be translated to on the big screen and I am very curious to see how this one will be because there are so many characters that haven't been shown in the movie! I love movie Four but once again, I hate him in the books! He's so mean to Tris and I feel like he is making her feel inferior and unworthy. I know he doesn't know what's going on with her but still he needs to take a chill pill. The ending was kind of blah for me - I just don't think it was a good cliffhanger. BUT the middle with Tris in Erudite and a big moment with her brother Caleb...I was FREAKING out. I hope it's portrayed amazingly in the movie!!!

Rating: 9/10
