From The Shelves

"He expected love to feel like something stupendous, maybe a little painful. Like the sore, used-up way his back and legs felt after riding Credo all day. Or the feeling he got when he was in Paris, standing on the Seine, watching people walk by, and suddenly realized he was right there in the moment and not stuck somewhere in the past or the future."

Summary: Jenny Humphrey has left Constance Billard to attend Waverly Academy - a school full of glamorous rich kids. J just wants to leave her past behind and start anew, completely reinvent herself. But life at Waverly isn't all it's cracked up to be and J is going to get more then she bargained for. Can she still become the It-Girl? (This series is a spin-off of the Gossip Girl book series)

(*Contains spoilers*) I've read this whole series before but I'm currently re-reading it because it's been a long time since I last read it. I really like this series and as I'm re-reading, I am realizing that this series is really comforting to me and makes me really relaxed and happy. It's good light fluff. In this first book, Jenny gets Callie Vernon and Brett Messerschmidt as roommates which brings on A LOT of drama. Callie is having problems with her current boyfriend Easy Walsh and one night Easy is in their room and gets caught. But who gets caught with him? Jenny. Callie of course is making Jenny take the blame for it because Callie already already has strikes against her. But this goes really bad for Callie instead. As for Brett, well she has a boyfriend but starts hooking up with her hot adviser, Eric Dalton. And Easy....he is so swoon worthy! He's an artist and he rides horses and he's just so cute. So...of course things start heating up between Easy and Jenny. The end of the book delivers a shock to the characters as they find out that one of their frenemies is returning which leads us to book two...

"She's baaaaaaack..."
"What r u talking about?"
"TC..."
"No waaaaaaaay...Do you think they'll kick J out of 303?"
"I heard they're ALL staying. Do you think she'll clash with T?"
"Who knows, but if they do, I want popcorn and a front-row seat!"

Summary: The notorious Tinsley Carmichael is back and taking down anyone that gets in her way - including her good friends Callie and Brett.

(*Contains spoilers*) Tinsley returns expecting to find that she still has her friends but not everything is the same anymore. For starters, Tinsley comes back to find that Jenny is sleeping in her bed and their room is about to get cozier since all four girls are now being forced to live together. Seems that Brett and Jenny are T's targets. First Tinsley finds out that Easy and Jenny are having a relationship and sneaking behind Callie's back. Then there's the issue of Brett's relationship with Eric which Tinsley immediately ruins by stealing Eric away. I hate T. She is awful but I think I hate Callie even more even though Callie is harmless compared to T.

Rating: 9/10

All future From The Shelves (which are hosted by Blog of Erised) will be to document my re-reading of this series :) Have you read these books or even heard of them? What about the Gossip Girl series? I haven't actually read the GG books yet but I do own most of those, too and will hopefully read those soon! Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

  1. Oh I have yet to read GG books! I watched the show but stopped because it got too tangled for my liking. I plan to give the books a try.
I like when books are so comfortable you actually relax while you read. Often you get anxious or scared or super excited. I haven't read a 'calm' book in forever, unless it was boring.
I might have to give these a try. :)

Thanks for sharing and for crediting! :)

    1. Thanks for stopping by and your welcome :) I watched the show too but stopped halfway through season 4. I was disappointed with how bad it got. I've started the GG book series briefly and I didn't like it back then so for now I think these books are way better then GG.
