We Were Liars - E. Lockhart

Summary from Goodreads:

A beautiful and distinguished family.
A private island.

A revolution. An accident. A secret.
Lies upon lies.
True love.
The truth.

We Were Liars is a modern, sophisticated suspense novel from National Book Award finalist and Printz Award honoree E. Lockhart.

Read it.
And if anyone asks you how it ends, just LIE.
I heard a lot of hype about We Were Liars and I was so happy when I got approved for it on Netgalley! I've tried to read The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks and couldn't get into it but I started The Boyfriend List on audiobook and I liked it but haven't finished it yet. Still being curious about Lockhart, I went ahead and read this book and while it was definitely slow moving, I was so intrigued the entire time that I didn't care about the pace. I wanted to just flip through the pages so fast and get to the end! I came up with a couple of different ideas as to what was going on but in the end I didn't fully get it and was definitely shocked! Like everyone else, there really isn't much to say without giving anything away so really I'm just going to repeat what everyone is saying: go read it!

Rating: 8/10
