Top Ten Books That You Wish Were Taught in School
Now, I only read like two of the required reading books from English class in all four years of high school. I really hate classics (although the two I read - Hamlet and Uncle Tom's Cabin - I actually liked) so the books I am choosing this week are of course, fun books. If we could read fun books in school, I would have read every book!
Topic: Vampires
All of these vampire books are so different in my opinion, so it would be cool to spend a semester comparing and contrasting them!
Topic: Aliens
This would be such a fun topic! I personally believe in aliens and UFOs and all that so this would be my favorite!
Topic: Paranormal
Witches. Fairies. All of this would be so fun!
Topic: Sci-Fi (kind of)
These kinds of stories are really interesting!
Topic: Mystery
These series both involve teens and I think it would be really interesting for discussion to talk about teens having to go through stuff dealing with murder and lies, etc...

I ♥ Pivot Point to death! I think everyone needs to read it and read it soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog.
My TTT List
I totally agree!!
DeleteI love that you used topics! I'd love to read vamps, especially Dracula, that'd be a fun read :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Anything that gets a student's mind to open up & be imaginative is great! In reference to your comment on my blog about Speak: I highly recommend reading the novel, versus just seeing the movie. There's a beautiful, honest story there, that I think can only be told in the book. Though the movie was acceptable, it doesn't convey the beauty in Laurie Halse Anderson's writing.
ReplyDeleteInteresting take on this week's subject. I would love to take those classes.
ReplyDeleteSchool definitely need us to read more mystery books! Kids will be WAY smarter than. Like, they will automatically know that hey, HE'S the one who stole the lunch money! ;D
ReplyDeleteGreat pick Michelle & thanks for stopping by my TTT! (:
I'm currently reading Pivot Point! Cool to see it on your list. Thanks for stopping by my TTT this week. :-)
ReplyDeleteThere are many on your list that I haven't read, but I like the idea of reading many of the same type of books and then comparing them. Maybe it would be more interesting than just dissecting a book like they currently do in school. Thanks for visiting my TTT.
