This is my second verse book (Audition - also from Kehoe was my first) and I liked it! Both of her books definitely have an affect on me but they aren't my favorites. I liked this one better then Audition because I felt like I kind of knew what to expect this time around but I like the ballet aspect from the first one better then the music in this one. Our MC Daisy has a brother who is autistic and much of the book shows Daisy trying to let go and accept that it's okay to feel relief and start living her life while her brother is going to live in a new home. I honestly wasn't able to feel for Daisy and I don't get why she was mad at her family for sending him away. I know she felt like the third parent so I think that's probably why. I'm not the best at looking below surface level so I'm sure other people will understand this book more then me! I think the verse writing fit well with moments where her brother would hit someone or bang his head against a wall because the brief wording makes me feel the intensity of it all. I was surprised that the summary of the book leads the reader to believe there is a love triangle when really it's about Daisy being rebellious with Dave who is the "bad boy." I wish we got more of Cal and I would almost love a sequel or novella just to show what would happen after the ending. I have more questions that I want answered and I want to see how the characters' lives turn out.

I tried to buy this book today and they didn't have it. But I actually just realized that I should have looked it up on Goodreads, because on Google it said the author's last name is Ward, which obviously is not right. Which means I was in the wrong section. Ugh.
